The Drugging of Britain:
How Much More of This Can Any Culture Survive?
by Kieron McFadden

An overview of the psychiatric drugging of children in Britain and where it is leading.

The British seem to have developed a penchant for drugging their children to rival that of the Americans, this despite the known side-effects of antidepressants and other psychiatric medications, their addictive nature and their tendency to precipitate a lifetime of physical and mental health complications.

Up to 100,000 British children aged five to 19 years with ADHD, for example, are now believed to be on drugs - despite the warnings of doctors, advocacy groups and human rights groups about side effects that include cardiovascular disorders, hallucinations, drowsiness, dizziness, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, nausea, mania, psychosis, depersonalization, loss of impulse control, slowed reaction time, lowered IQ, perception problems, suicidal thoughts and even homicidal impulses.

Not every drugged child turns into a homicidal maniac, true: many decline more quietly and less dramatically than that, but it is nevertheless a fact that, as experience in America has shown, children who went on the horrific schoolyard rampages (not to mention the growing number of adults who went on workplace rampages) were all on psychiatric medications at the time.

The excuse used by psychiatry, naturally, is that the child was "mentally ill" in some way but this begs the question as to how come a child originally having a problem with depression, concentration and so forth becomes a homicidal mass murderer! There is a big difference between the two. At the very least you can say that the expensive psychiatric drugging was useless and benefited no-one except making a fat profit for the psycho-pharmacy.

However, we have had decades now to study and track the effect of long term psychiatric medication on both youngsters and adults and a very obvious pattern has emerged: there is a clear link between psychiatric drugs and murderous rampages as well as other bizarre and apparently motiveless killings, the like of which we never saw until the arrival of mass psychiatric drugging of the population.

That this glaring and ominous connection has never been investigated, despite a clamor from concerned groups that it be so, is very hard to explain. There is evidently a peculiar lack of interest on the part of authorities charged with keeping the peace and rendering the environment safe for the citizenry, in the death and maiming of growing numbers of innocent children and adults at the hand of people being medicated by psychiatry.

This begins to be understandable only when one factors in the inordinate influence over our political establishment and the media exerted by the giant corporations that market and sell drugs.

One thing we do know: the problem is not going to go away.

If we let our children be subject to this drugging, rather than bother to find and competently handle the allergies, nutritional deficiencies and so forth at the root of any problems with mood or focus that they may be having and as long as we neglect workable "talking therapies" in favor of pharmaceutical profits we are going to have trouble. Lots of it.

The problem is going to get worse. Children being drugged now are going to have a lifetime of trouble with addiction and behavioral problems and some may develop the homicidal or suicidal urges that are know to be the side effects of their medications.

In Britain, fortunately, guns are hard to come by so the damage that can be done by someone who "flips" as a result of his medication (or of trying to come off the medication) is more limited. Yet we have already seen stabbings and murders by people damaged by psychotropic medication and we are going to see more.

America, sadly, can expect many more mass murders and as the wholesale medicating is now inflicted on military personnel, her armed services are going to see their share.

Any government that supports or does nothing to inhibit this wholesale debilitation of its citizenry does not have the best interests of the citizenry at heart and declares itself willing to stand by and watch the disintegration and decline of its culture in the name of keep the drug makers’ profits flowing copiously into their coffers.

If some foreign power or terrorist organization had inflicted on Britain and America a tenth of the death and destruction visited upon our citizenry young and old by the psycho-pharmaceutical axis, it would have been regarded as an act of war. And so it is. It is an irony of our age that our civilization may well be brought to destruction not by the terrorists and their bombs, but by our own corporations and mental health (hah!) "experts."

Meanwhile, the disgraceful labeling and drugging of kids as marketing ploy continues: the number of prescriptions being given to children with "hyperactivity," "depression" and other "mental illnesses" has soared, according to new figures, and over 420,000 prescriptions were issued to children under 16 with "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder" (ADHD) in 2007 - up 33 per cent since 2005- .despite the fact that such "mental illnesses" have been shown to be bogus.

In the 16-18 age group, the number went up 51 per cent for youngsters, reaching 40,000 in 2007. During this period the NHS endorsed at least three drugs for ADHD, despite fears about side effects and some critics complaining it medicalises antisocial behaviour.

Drugging is a lazy quick-fix that just happens to be profitable for the drug makers, even while it costs the NHS a bundle, not only for these expensive medications but also for further expensive medications to "manage" all the complications that result. This again is a strangely irresponsible response, this time from the British National Health Service (NHS). This is the organization that was supposed to safeguard the health of the British people, yet nutritional solutions are mysteriously neglected and the average British doctor is staggeringly unschooled in nutrition.

Again, this may derive from the inordinate influence of the drug making and peddling corporations, who own most of the British schools that teach doctors their craft.
The willingness of thousands of parents - who would not try to persuade their children to consume crack or heroin - to see their children given drugs that are as bad or actually WORSE in many respects - may be due to the billions the pharmaceutical giants spend on "marketing" (drug pushing) and the lack of alternatives presented to the parents by doctors who themselves have been educated in large measure by the same drug dealers.

And so it goes on: in 2007 more than 113,000 prescriptions of antidepressants issued to children under 16, almost 108,000 antidepressant prescriptions to 16-18-year-olds, over 86,000 prescriptions for anti-psychotics - powerful tranquiliser drugs - issued to children under 18 and altogether the NHS spent £17 million on ADHD drugs, £1.5 million on antidepressants and £3.5million on anti-psychotics prescribed to children in 2007.

Even some politicians are beginning to cotton on to the fact that something is seriously wrong. The aforementioned figures were obtained by the Tories via Freedom of Information requests and their shadow Health Minister, Anne Milton, said doctors should be opting for non-drug treatments rather than reaching for the prescription pad.

Too right. This is in fact a screaming emergency. Any society so neglectful of the welfare of its young, its next generation, is absolutely certain to perish, Any culture is as healthy mentally and physically as the health of its individual citizens and through drugging and other neglects that health is in being shoved into decline . Per Ms Milton, 'We already know that our children suffer the lowest levels of well-being in Europe. "

Children with ADHD are prescribed drugs with brand names such as Ritalin as the drugs "make them calmer". Of course they do! So does heroin or anything that dopes people up. There was a time when doping was what we did to our animals, not our children and properly sorting out someone’s nutrition also helps with his concentration, alertness and mood, and handling an allergy calms a hyperactive child down and so forth - but by upgrading his whole health and without side effects.

Doping people on the other hand inhibits mental performance and produces behavioural problems and the "calm" apparently evaporates when the child reaches puberty. The drugs lead to other drugs, bigger cocktails of prescribed medication, street drugs and prescribed medications themselves become drugs traded on the streets. It is a fact that the whole drugs epidemic that has laid waste so many American lives began in the early 1960s, when President Kennedy permitted psychiatry to implement its "solution" of drugging kids.

US research found Ritalin may cause lasting changes to the brain. Side effects including weight gain and heart trouble have been reported in autistic or hyperactive children treated with anti-psychotic drugs and there is little long-term evidence that the drugs are safe.

NHS advice on prescribing of antidepressants to children warns they all have 'significant risks' yet many doctors seem to hand them out like sweets.

Advocates of child drugging - often front groups linked to the pharmaceutical gravy train - claim that kids benefit from it. Well they would, nobody tied in to the drug industry is going to admit they are messing kids up and it all depends what you mean by "benefit."

Our children would REALLY benefit from greater care by adults to feed them properly and ensure they get PROPER medical treatment and not a quick fix to dope them up and keep them quiet.

Unless we do something fast, we have set ourselves up for a drugs epidemic in the near future that will make the current one appear mild in comparison.

Someone is trying to tear down our civilization from within and personally I do not know how much more of this abuse our cultures can survive.
